Tell your funny stories from your very first job! What was it? What did you do?

I was 16 and My first Job was at Burger King. I started on the front registers and graduated to Drive Thru. Drive thru was like the big deal job. No Idea why LOL. We got free food(when we snuck it) haha And also we got all the kids meal toys free. I had all the nightmare before christmas watches way back when. The uniform sucked. I always wore my combat boots and I changed after school into that uniform. No matter how much you washed it, it always smelled like grease. In my small town all the cool people worked at BK and the dorks at Mc D's . My High school sweetheart use to come in as a customer, thats how we started talking. I figured he liked me alot since he would come in and eat that crap food daily. I actually liked my job there. I worked there for about a year then got promoted to assistant manager for a whopping 7.50 an hour (This was in 1993) Well then I heard they were building a kmart and I left to go work there.

Senior citizens were the worst. That damn senior discount.
Most of the drama was with people who worked there. Most of the guys in the back were stoners so who knows what went on lol.

My first Job was at KFC... I worked there for a year and a half... We got all we could eat and what ever was left we got to take home.... It wasn't until all the homeboys started working there.. before it was 'Real' fun. We got robbed once the manager lost her mind and almost went insane... the employees made more money selling chicken after the store closed... guess you could say we where slingin' Chicken :aBigROLFMAO: However after I left them... I couldn't stand to see a chicken for 5 years...let alone eat one.:not_i:

I don't really have any funny stories from my early days of employment. My very first job (other than babysitting) was when I was about 13, working at a little art gallery at the beach. It's this kinda open air plaza of sorts -- lots of little galleries that kinda look like Tiki huts... it was on a cliff over the beach, my friends would come visit me all day, and it was actually a blast. Loved it.

The following summer, I worked for my Aunt who was a stockbroker, and did "cold calling" to schedule people to come to financial seminars (I was 14). (due to the nature of the industry, however, there aren't any fun stories... lol)

When I was 11 years old I started working in the banquet hall of the church (Catholic School, so it was in the same parking lot). Went there after school, and worked about 30 hours a week for $3.75/hr cash money. Not bad for 1982, it was more than the minimum wage and the work was easy.

Did that for about 4 or 5 years, then got a job at a movie theater as an usher, and after a few months I became the projectionist. Try watching Die Hard 137 times in a month and tell me if you can recite the entire script backwards.

I got my first job at age 12 (I think), working after school at the Tastee Freeze (which was king of like letting drug addict work at the ********). My boss let me charge ice cream against my paycheck, resulting in many very, very small paychecks! http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m23/acalliste/smilies/omfg.gif

well aside from trying to charge my dad for my chores, my second REAL job was when i was 15. my dad said if i wanted more money than my allowance to get a job. so i did.

I got a part time job at Elms Haven Nursing home, as a Dietary Aid, or as I like to say 'the retiree's personal piss on person'. I don't have any funny stories, i went home smelling like puree peas and piss, and upset that a nice old lady almost stabbed me with her fork when i tried (because she APPEARED to have finished her dinner and didn't answer me when i asked her two times if she was finished!) to take her tray away. "what the hell is the matter with you? you think because i'm old and in this piece of sh!t place that you can just take my food away? how would you like it if i took your food away? get the hell out of here you brat!"

I was pretty upset, i cried and tried to explain that "i asked two times if you were finished ma'am.." "DON'T YOU CALL ME MA'AM YOU SPOILED LITTLE SH!T!"

after that, i quit and accepted my weekly allowance as sufficient. lol

pfft, 5.25/hr can kiss my ass!

I forgot to tell a funny story.....

There was this boy who worked in visuals named Mike. We started dating and he gave me my first hickey. I went to work the next day in a turtle neck....this was the middle of summer in the freaking desert, it was like 100 degrees outside. All my co-workers, especially Andrea, who is still my best friend, gave me so much crap about it. I didn't let it bother me so they went to Mike and started giving him crap. He came up to me and said "Nice job giving yourself a hickey." I was soo pissed. We broke up and I never talked to him again.

About a year ago, I happened to run into him. We started talking and re-hashing the past and laughed about it. He had just returned from Iraq and said he was a different person than he was when he was 16. We started dating again.

All I have to say is BOYS NEVER CHANGE!!!!!!!!

pfft! my sister got a brand new eagle talon when she graduated hs back in.. well i wont say what year, and you know what i got? a USED 97 stock cavalier coupe, pfft!

which i later traded in, because it was paid for, towards a 98 cavalier Z24, with moon roof because it was pretty bad ass and my ex (whom i hate and loathe) said it was a faster, better version, so i did it, and then i got stuck with a $13k car and car payments. Daddy wasn't happy.

I got nada, I had to save money to buy a POS Ford Courier pickup, which my dad proceeded to blow the engine up in and then tell me I needed to pay him $ for the insurance on it.

I remember riding my BMX bicycle to work when I was 18 because I hadn't saved up enough for a down payment on my new truck yet.

And your folks GAVE you a car??????

My story is true, but I think it's cool that alot of people's folks help them out. I really wish mine had. But my dad tries to help me out whenever he can nowadays, so it's all good.

do you people not see the moral of this story? the fact isn't that i'm spoiled, it's that i learned a valuable lesson! appreciate what your father gives you!

Like my new toaster, it's toasts toast, bagels, english muffins AND it poaches eggs! AT THE SAME TIME! i will never EVER trade that toaster in, ever! THANKS DADDY FOR ENDLESS EGG MCMUFFINS RIGHT IN MY OWN KITCHEN!!!!

Reading about ya'lls first cars reminds me of mine... I had a 83 F-150 single cab, long bed... I was suppoed to pay my dad $1000 for it cause that when the stepmonster said... needless to say I never paid him cause he told me not too, and the monster was pissed.... I loved that truck, it was good to me for 3 years... till I gave it to my stepdaddy and bought a neon :wallbash:
