SBG has lost sumtin as of late. What is everyone preoccupied with? Is everyone pissed off or what? Everyone joined another site? Something is amiss and I want to resolve it. How can we fix it????

I see it too! I'm still here and I'll always be here...as long as you'll have me! I don't belong to any other sites and have no intention of joining and...used to be on CBRForum, but that was lame for me as a woman...way too much testosterone! I found my place...and this is it for me!

Hi PG....I can only speak for myself...but things have been crazy busy around here with back to school time and job hunting and the work I am doing for the church...Im also at a loss of what type of new info to post up..I personally, would like to see a part of the forum dedicated to outreach programs such as Domestic violence, Food and Clothing banks, Depression, things like that...things that some of us face once in a while or on a daily bases..just a part of the forum that could provide links and/or resources to other places on the web...

I know I also like to read about other peoples riding stories..it really motivates me to get out there on the bike!!

I as well have been busy. I got an offer letter for a great job this week, turned in my notice. My boss HATES me now. He's pissed.

My son went back to school and that's a hectic time, changing jobs, and I've been spending a lot of time with the local riding club here, so i haven't been online and posting as much.

Sadly I am not supposed to be online at work so I don't pop in much and with the new job I spend 4 hours a day commuting and 8 working. Not too talkative when I get home. I do lurk and check things out. I still think SBG's rocks!

Hi group, my name shannon, and I'm a forumaholic. I'm currently a member of 39 different internet forums...(although this one and my own are the only two I visit daily)

Not that this is bad...but for me...there's Soooo many people here and sooooo much going on...it's hard to keep up. I only open topics that sound interesting to me unless I just have free time to click and read them all. I try to revisit those posts to see what's going on. But I just get too busy most the time.

As I said...I have a business to run. This is our busy season, with schools, awareness and the holidays coming I have been working constantly. When I am done I have a home to keep up, a husband, a bike to ride, friends that want to do stuff and family that wants attention.

I barely have time to keep up with the friends I can see in person much less here! I just talked to Tasha for the first time in days!

I get on briefly to check on things but I can't read thru all the posts. I have been reading the chicken strip posts and keeping up with the social ones that amuse me and of course my team on BL but I can't do it all.

As for other forums I belong to several. But I basically do most of the same there...lurk a little and post minimally.

SBG is what you make it. I have started tons of bike related posts. People don't post on it. As I have said many many times before...if you want to discuss something then post it!

Welp lemme see. I am not mad or anything like that. I lurk and post. Sometimes I just cant think of anything to say. I've been seeking employment, looking into going back to school and that is depressing as hell.

I hear ya sista. I have been trying to go back to school but keep hittin roadblocks. I LOVE school and miss it but cant seem to get back to it. Hard to think of what I wanna do next career-wise when I love what i do now so much. But my body is starting to protest thus the school- seeking. takes up way too much time to try to plan out a career change with no money. I think i actually made my computer laugh at me when I applied for financial aid too. :wallbash:

LOL @ school is fun. I always hated school and was glad when I got out. It may be fun when I finally decide on what the career change choice will be.

I'm here. My work has been keeping me pretty busy. But I lurk and make comments where I think I should or when I am interested in something. I try to pop in on the daily and say something every morning. It's jsut hard when you have phones and such going all day at work. anyway I love SBG! This is the only forun I get on anymore. Our local forum is lame so I just come here and check my myspace regularly.

I agree with everyone here! SBG rocks but life is extremely busy! I do try to lurk and read a few posts daily and I try to make comments here and there. I'd love to have more time to spend with all of you but sadly not right now. I do not belong to any other forums. SBG gets my undivided attention when I can give it!

I will offer one more suggestion...

This obviously isn't anyone's fault or anything like that...

but the site seems slower than it used to...Anyone else getting that?

When I type in www.sportbikegurls.com it used to load right then and there, now it takes 10 seconds or so...and when I click NEW POSTS, it takes a while for the list to pop up, same when I click reply...

Have we grown so much that we need to up the bandwidth or something? I don't think it was like this last month...

rcrgirl84

I've had that problem since the big crash/explosion at the server housing building place. Everything's been a little slower since we got back up and running.

The only time i notice a lag is if i am doing some maintenance or sending news letters. The forum is fine for me. Try doing a traceroute from your provider to SBG. It could be routing. I think the site is better and much faster since the move speed wise. And I suggest alot of you try using http://sportbikegurls.com/forums instead of the portal and see if that helps.

And you can ditch the WWW part its not needed :D

Make sure your browsers aren't jacked up as well. If you need help doing a trace route let me know.

I'll try it. But its slow for me on my home laptop . . . which is usually pretty fast. Its even slower at work where we have a fat pipe connection. Every other site is fine, but SBG is slow.

Yeah SBG is usually one of the first sites I log into ... I'll open three browsers, log into SBG, NR and Myspace...I have to remember to keep checking back on my SBG window to see if it's up yet...and I have a 20MB/Second connection.

I go through 19 hits on a tracert.

Thanks for all the input. I am going to start devoting some time to getting things rolling here. With the rally taking up all my time the last part of this year I couldn't work on getting new members and bringing old ones back.

I am going to ask you all try and create topics that interest you! YOU have the power to do so! And maybe bring a friend or two to SBG!

good to know that other people be sides me have to wait forever for this webpage to load. i have charter, and when i tracert it, it gets bottlenecked right at the first jump. my isp is charter and it takes 17 jumps to get there.

I rarely have any issues with SBG loading. But I will check into it tho since it doesnt seem isolated to one area or another.

I, too, have just been busy. I am down a banker at work so that means I have to work more closes and I get on the 'net more often when my husband's at work. I am on a couple other forums, but I'm not posting there really either. If I don't have anything I feel is worthwhile to post, then I don't.
