This is just my $.02

If you ride hard on the street...either are great.

On the x13 (wera) forum, racers complain about the 2CT getting extremely slick and greasy when heated and pushed to it's limits.

I have tried just about everything...I always go back to Pirelli.

Comparing a 2CT to a CORSA III

2CT:
Dual Compound.
Middle Compound: MEDIUM
Outer Compound: MEDIUM SOFT
Outer Compound is a 15% lean angle...which means roughy 1 inch of this compound.

CORSA III:
Triple Compound
Middle Compound: MEDIUM
Next Compound: MEDIUM SOFT
Outer Compound: SOFT
Outer Compound has a 30% lean angle (Twice as much as the 2CT, a Softer stickier compound, and the tire can usually be found at a lower cost, this will offer a more evenly rounded tire if you ride interstates often)

I used a 2CT in march at Putnam Park...it drifted and pushed out a lot after the track warmed up.

I used a Corsa III at Barber, never slid once.

I used a Corsa III at Nashville, much bumpier and technical course, it slid every time I transitioned to the nascar concrete where White Knight washed out.

PIRELLI in levels of Stickiness (these are only from experience, there might be other Pirelli tires in the mix but I've not used them)
Rosso: Street tire with great tread life, never tried it, it's new. Too hard of a compound for me to want to test it.
Diablo: Great for the street
Corsa: Hard Street Riding, Novice Trackday
Corsa III: About the same as the Corsa, better tread life
Dragon Super Corsa OEM: Decent for Intermediate Trackday
Dragon Super COrsa Pro: Excellent tires for Intermediate and Advanced Trackdays.
Comes in three compounds, SC1, SC2 and SC3. MSRP: $700 a set. Online price is about $475. I run SC1 on the front and SC2 on the rear. This is super sticky and will last me about 7 trackdays.

I love my CorsaIII's but sadly they look like this after just one trackday on a liter bike.

For general street riding, and I push pretty hard. Not going to do anything stupid on the street though. I use the Pirelli Diable Strada's. If I was going to do any track days I'd get the Corsa III. The Strada's have outstanding grip, at full lean they are still sticky, they heat up quickly, the front and the rear have worn very evenly, they are outstanding in the rain, and I've got 12,000 miles on my current set!

I do a combination of long distance travel and backroad twisty fun.

pirelli diablos... really???? why would you do that to your bike? lol

2ct's all the way. ive used them riding hard on the twisties and also on the track and never had any issues of any kind. just make sure you run the proper cold pressures. these tires are really picky about that. 31 front and 34 rear (cold).

I have Michelin Pilots and love them. We rode the Gap pretty hard and they stuck like glue.

Shan you know that your tires ball up like that because you're inconsistent on the throttle, right!?

;)

...joking, don't hurt me

Leah's ignorant comments don't bother me...how would she know what consistent throttle is when she doesn't know how to truly apply the throttle...lol.

Sounds like a pretty fair toss up between 2CT and CorsaIII from SBG users.

Again...I like both for hard street...just not a fan when pushing them hard on a track.

Still by rating...CorsaIII has a "SOFT" edge, 2CT has a "MEDIUM SOFT" edge...even by definition, CorsaIII offers better grip.

I heard the CorsaIII's sucked in the rain, esp with any lean.

how far did you lean tho? But when I heard that, it was still winter n the cold may have been a factor too.

Not sure about IN the rain...I try to stay out of the wet stuff...but our first couple sessions at Barber the track was still wet...I actually had my knee down in the wet stuff...first time for that...
