I went down last week on the 520W to 405S ramp. I was going about 25mph, which is (IIRC) what that corner is rated for. I think. I remember slowing down to at or close to that the 'rating' for the corner was. Anyway...

Last Tuesday morning I ran the three pass blast with some guys from work. Had a great time. It was fun finally having a bike that can keep up with a 'medium-fast' or maybe even 'fast' group. We hauled and had a blast. We met at 0430 and left Redmond around 0445. Got back into town around 1045 and I broke off when everyone else when in to work cause I was heading home to finish packing for my vacation to the Caribbean. I had already had my fun for the day and mentally forced myself to 'shut it down' when we got back into town. Speed limit, slow on corners. I was taking it easy for my last 20 mins to home. I hit that ramp and had just finish setting up on the bike for the corner, tipped in and started to turn giving it just a hair of throttle to make it through and then the bike was sliding out in front of me and I was on the pavement wondering what just happened. It was about 1100.

The front tire slid out from under me. I imagine I hit something slick but I don't really know. It wasn't from going too fast and I wasn't on the brake. My left boot is now covered in BBQ sauce so I wonder that it wasn't some asswipe's lunch I found. I really don't know, though. What I do know is that it was the front, and it wasn't due to the tires being fresh and shouldn't have been due to cold since I'd been on the bike the last 6 hours already.

I picked up the bike, looked myself and the bike over. Everything looked (mechanically) ok and I only had pain in my left ankle so I stared her up and rode home. When I got home I couldn't shift anymore without a lot of pain so I went to the ER and was there the rest of the day. They couldn't find a break but suggested I should have it looked at more because the amount of swelling I had suggested that I fuggered it up pretty good.

I had my follow-up appointment today and I have a 'level two' sprain that I guess will take a while to heal. I even get to do physical therapy, joy. I'm just glad I had my full gear on... could have been much worse.

Anyway, what I'm sure you're all waiting for:

man..replacing plastics is so expensive!!! Glad to hear you're ok...better a sprain than briken bones..just ask Headlight!!! Man, what is it with our guys around here? If they are not causing drama, they are out there hurting themselves!!!

Hope you're back to normal soon!!

So if it's possible you ought to repair the plastic and paint it. It's cheaper than buying new!

I had one of them sprains, mine was just from walking and I rolled my ankle though. It took gosh like 3 months to get back to "normal" I still can't rollerblade or ice skate because of the pressure and it's been 9 months. I'd rather break something than sprain!

Good luck with the rebuild and hope that sprain heals for you! Glad you weren't hurt more!

Actually my sprain is bad enough it's supposed to be worse than a break. Doc said yesterday it could be 6 months before I'm at 100%.

I'm gonna be riding long before then. hehehehehe.

Hey Nate. Sorry it took so long. I just got back last night! Take care of the ankle and do what he says for a while. I still can't wear heels and I sprained my ankle last year around this time. He told me 3-6 months to heal but bad days for up to a year. I didn't wear my walking cast and was usually out of my wrap within days. You'll heal better if you stay off it for a while and listen to the doc, unlike moi. But I was riding within 3-4 months.

Rest up boy! Glad you're not more seriously injured.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I couldn't wear heels...since I live in them.
