can i make my clutch pull harder? i'd like it to grab faster, like the one on my harley does. i don't wanna hafta let it nearly the whole way out before it engages. i feel like an idiot asking this. like i should know the answer. :)

Should adjust like the brake lever does

The only way to make it harder is to put heavy pressure plate springs in it but you can adjust the handle to make it come on sooner in it's stroke just like the brake.

it all depends on what kinda clutch, hydrolic or a "line" clutch like a brake line. if you have a hydrolic, you should have a rotating dial on the lever to adjust the position of the lever. this may help you get a better "feel" on the lever. if you have a line clutch (like a brake lever type), you can adjust the line to be more taught and adjust the friction zone futher out or more closer to the clip-on (handle bar).

...making the clutch tighter won't change your friction zone... do you just want the feel? Or a wider friction zone?

Heavier clutch springs may be what you're after, but that can make riding in stop/go/sitting in traffic a pain in the hand.

How are you riding? The HD will "feel" like it hooks sooner because the antiquated clutch system is combined with an engine that creates all it's power down-low... what HD do you have? Is it a hydrolic clutch? Has your current clutch always been like that? Are you the first owner of your bike? It could just be time to replace the clutch... when a clutch wears overtime, sometimes we forget that it used to feel different....

clearly I'm just throwing ideas out there because I don't have all the info.
