Well I want to switch my coolant over to Engine Ice and I need to flush it. The book says to use Distilled water. Is that necessary? Would bottled water work just as well?

Also where do I purchase distilled water? I checked the automotive stores, bike dealerships and grocery stores.

If you go to the grocery store they will have distilled water just check all the water bottles and it will say it. If you go the the engine ice website it will give you directions on how to flush your system using distilled water and white vinegar make sure you flush with just water afterwards to get all of the vinegar out. I thought that engine ice is premixed so no water needed?? Double check..

bottles water = purified water

distilled water = distilled water.

there is a difference.

never use tap water. it will leave harmfull deposits in the coolant system and fak things up in the long term.

if you havent bought the engine ice, i may reccomend water wetter. 10.00 a bottle and only about 1/2 bottle needed per bike. real simple to use. flush out bike. put in distilled water, put 1/2 bottle into coolant system. start bike and rev the bike quickly to about 5000rpm's a few times to "burp" the air out the system. might have to "burp" it a few fan cycles to insure your all good. let cool and top off with more distilled water.

i use water wetter in both my street and track bikes. but i the winter you MUST change back to antifreeze, as water wetter has NO antifreeze properties.
