Okay so on sunday while riding 129 n surrounding roads, my chain starts whining, you can actually hear it in one of the vids I posted the other night. Yesterday I lubed n adjusted the chain. But, when its adjusted right in one spot, its too loose in another or too tight in another. Ans stilled whined to n from class this morning (about 10 or miles round trip). So this afternoon I tore it apart to check it all out. Well, the sprockets are -1/+1, and to me, it appears the front is a 525 or 530 and the rear is a 520. Lots of side to side play on the rear sprocket. Now get this, I take the front sprocket cover off, and it has side to side play n a lil forward n back play. I took it off and the shaft doesnt have any excess play in it. I'm lost exceot its all worn out mismitched crap.

Anyone have any ideals or experience with this?

hows the output shaft look (the shaft the front sprocket sits on)? any sign of jumping?
and if you are running a 520 and a 530, or anything like that, imo the chain woudl have jumped off and caused damage. i would just get new front and rear sprocket and chain. you should have maby a 1/16" play from inside to outside of shaft and front sprocket. nothing really more. are you sure the front sprocket bolt is properly torqued. also inspect the chain for any hang-ups or kinks that wouldnt allow for a free spinning chain.

i'm not sure a 520 chain would even fit over a 525/530 sprocket??

are you getting uneven wear on one side of the sprocket? easiest to check with the rear (because you can see both sides without taking it off).

yea I think the rollers are bigger. No real uneven wear, I think it just has a section stretched to hell hence the not staying adjusted. And the front sprocket is loose on the output shaft. Basically like everyone here n elsewhere I posted this, its time to replace b4 sum bad happens. :drinks:

i'd get an upgrade, did erv3 520 and some driven sprockets.

def will be a 520, if it isnt aready. One of our venders, TrackStar1 quoted me a great price. I just gotta get the scratch up to get em. Everything is due n braking at once n I got a wedding in Newaygo weekend after next.

a 520 chain and sprocket width is smaller than the 525 and the 530, so i don't think it would fit, unless its a larger chain on a smaller sprocket.

a bud of mine had the EXACT same problem last year. we never found out what the problem was but after a few days of messing with it and riding it anyway, the chain finally came off the sprocket and whipped forward and broke a hole in his motor. i say u just change out the front and rear sprockets and a chain with a 520 setup and call it a day, and don't ride until u make this change, for ur safety.

Yea I was thinking the rear sprocket was smaller width wise.

And yea its purdy much parked until its fixed

A 520 chain will not fit on any other sprocket than a 520. The 520 means the pitch of the chain which is the space between the links. I would go with the Driven Racing 520 Conversion. Shoot me a PM if interest. I can get any sprocket combo from Noam over there and I have never heard a bad thing about them.
