I'm bored and post whoring... so figured I'd share some years of experience...
1. Don't spray water into the exhaust pipe. I don't care what your brother says, it does NOT give it a cool burbling sound.
2. Paint thinner is NOT a good bug removal tool. Neither is sandpaper.
3. There are at least three sides to every part of your bike. The left side, the right side.. and the side that you can't reach.
4. Never armor-all the seat on a sport bike. Trust me on this one.. I don't want to explain.
5. "water less" cleaners don't work.
6. The other guy's bike looks cleaner 'cause he don't ride as hard as you do. I don't care if he beats you every time you're out together.
7. Fine grade steel wool is ok for removing burnt shoe from an exhaust pipe... it don't do so good on plastic.
8. Never, never wash your bike within 1/2 mile of any flying animal. Use a BB gun if necessary.
9. Turn off your cell phone. Take the house phone off the hook. Your bike WILL be covered with water spots before you can possibly get off the line.
10. If there's a greater than 5% chance of rain, it WILL rain.. probably just on you.

1. Use a leaf blower to dry your bike...it was get all of the places you can't reach and leaves NO spots whatsoever and doesn't leave towel fuzzies either.
2. A California duster is great for dusting it.

+1 on number 8. I have mine ready!!! :hunter: Just let those birdies try and come my way!!! Although, did you know, that it is scientifically proven that birds only poop when they are goint to take off?? There's your useless piece of information for the day!!

I guess pooping while flying would throw them off a bit. I have a bigger problem with stray cats climbing on my vehicles than birds pooping on them.
I'm still waiting for one to piss in my mother-in-law's convertible....that would be the highlight of my day.

It's also scientifically proven that this fact does NOT apply when a newly washed vehicle is in the area... need BB's anyone?

Thanks for adding that. I was going to if I didn't see it. Our friend's wife thougth she was being sweet when she washed his entire bike and used the tire shine as well. Needless to say, he wasn't happy with it. Poor girl!

Me personally after I wash my bike I like to burn rubber (burnout) to get that traction again.

... Don't forget the Green Snow! IEW it is the NASTIEST CRAP to get off your bike... Besides a Swifter Duster works wonders to get this crap off (dirty little secret of mine)

I NEVER worry about water spots... I use the Mr. Clean car wash system. It has a filtre to rinse your bike off with and does a way with water spots. I also plug in my MP3 and everyone knows to leave me alone... It's a zen thing I guess... lol. However if you DO get water spots on your chrome or mirrors, use Mother's Chrome Polish. It is safe for glass!
