Well I typically do not go down to Royal Oak. Those that know me are probably sick of me saying I would rather swallow rusty razor blades then go be another poseur in Royal Oak. I mean I just like to get out and ride. Royal Oak is like 20 minutes of riding, 4 hours of hanging out, 20 minutes to ride home. In those 4 hours I could be riding somewhere. Plus its a huge squid draw.. People like to show up and talk shit about how badass they are, etc. Whatever.. I am not impressed.
Regardless I am committed to riding alot this year and it was a chance to go out and ride. So I took the long route there for like an hour ride. Then only stayed for like an hour then took the 20 minute ride home. Ended up running into Kawasaki Bob from Ducs Unlimited so that was cool. He invited me to a ride on 05/04/08.
So the Official MP Royal Oak Report 04/24/08:
Parking Cops were out in full force - parking ticket = $30 - nfg - I didn't get one but I watched him issue one to a bike clearly parked illegaly - if you go down there feed the meter and park in a legal spot unless you are made of money and don't care in which case PM me and I will send you my name and address to send a check to as well
Good number of bikes down there for a cloudy iffy weather night that ended up getting a little cooler on the ride home - especially this early in the year
Saw a T-Rex - half bike half car (see picture). Looked pretty cool and I am sure it would be a blast on the track. 2 seater.
Saw a good number of paper plates on 1,000cc bikes. Little too early to see squids in shorts, wife beaters and sandals but I am sure they were there like a wolf in sheep's clothing wearing some kind of gear due to cooler weather. I have faith they will represent once it gets warmer.
