ok, have any of you flown with your riding gear? I know I can get my jacket, gloves and riding pants in my suitcase, but what about the helmet? any thoughts on how to pack my helmet??

I know mine fits in my larger duffle bag...I'd probably stick it in there and carry it on...don't trust checking in anything that important

Carry on. No guarantees it won't get smashed or dropped in the checked luggage.

That's a good question! Lynk told me he wanted to rent a bike while he was down in Cali, and I didn't know about the idea since he wasn't taking his helmet. He thought he'd rent one. Ick!
I'd say carry on somehow, unless you had the original box with padding. Too chancy! Of course, my helmet is worth more than anything I own except my car LOL.

A friend of mine flies with her jacket, gloves, etc. in her checked bag, and her helmet as carryon. You can even by the hard helmet case, if you really feel the need.

It's the helmet cases that I was wondering about...I have seen the hard ones and the backpack ones...does anyone own any of these kind?

I wore my riding boots and carried my helmet the last time I flew with my gear. I was going for a track day in NM and using borrowed leathers from the track owner, so I just had to pack my gloves.
Oh, and when I came back from England I had a leather jacket my son had given me, so I wore that. Didn't want to risk it coming up missing.
