My first thought was no. But Acalliste made a good point about how much more visible you are to cars, its goofy but draws attention.
I saw a girl on the track with one, and it was so easy to spot her that my husband wants me to have one.
So, maybe yea.

HELL YES I WOULD!!!! I was going to get one but as usual, never got around to it.

Plus, mohawks (on tatoo'd skinny white guys) are f*ckin sexy. :D

I really stand out and the kids I meet really seem to get a kick out of it...Besides, daughter and hubby picked it out...I must admit, it does bring out the character of my helmet!!!

Keep in mind this will cause many guys to try to wheelie near you for your attention cause they're automatically 'in love' with any girl that rides....

That happens now anyway, but usually the "dumbass" headshake in their direction clues them in.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

They look absolutely retarded, I agree - just like the bright yellow reflective vests. But I don't ride for the image, and I could give less than a shit about how I look as long as the drivers around me take note that, hey, there's a motorcycle over here.

+1...I'm not here to wind a beauty contest. As soon as I put my mohawk on my helmet, people took notice....even when I was off the bike and had to carry it around. Anyone who sees it, has to admit it makes me stand out. And, in the town that I ride in, the more I stand out, the better. If you like it, cook, if you don't, cool too. But, i guarantee, it's gonna make you turn your head!!! That, and nobody expects a girl to be under that helmet...

Stays on at over 120mph so far with no issues.... Velcro might look better tho.

acalliste
04-16-2008, 03:43 PM
Well, I put it on my helmet and left it sitting on my kitchen table, and one of the suction cups let go after just a little while. (My kitchen table doesn't do 120mph). I've already lost one cat ear from the suction cup failing, so I think I'll try velcro with this one. :D

The flutter is my favorite helmet. Mine stands out pretty well its the HJC Lona that came out last year.. white base, purple/pink etc. I do love the ponytail idea that B.S. found on ebay. sweet....and as for getting noticed.. since my helmet is so colorful and girly I do get noticed quite a bit on my bike. It's all about being seen!

Yea, my helmet gets noticed too. Its the Suomy Ventura with bright hawiaiin flowers, glitter silver camo, flag, etc. It's awesome

I've had it do that just sitting around too, but never on the road. *shrug* I Just don't wanna permanently stick velcro to my lid. :pardon:

acalliste
04-16-2008, 04:42 PM
I didn't like the idea either, but I was talking to someone at cycle gear (where I bought it) and he said he does the velcro thing with his, and the adhesive somes off pretty easy when he decides to remove it. I think all it would take is maybe 2 or three little strips of velcro as a supplement to the suction cups, not a strip as long and wide as the mohawk itself....

Just a heads up, it also makes you stand out more to the police. So if you're doing something illegal or riding with someone who is, they'll notice the biker with the mohawk.
