Has anyone tried this? I knew a guy that recommended it but I have never tried it. He said he would run it every spring in his bike and it would clean all the garbage out of there. I looked for it at Murray's but couldn't find it. With Spring just around the corner it is something to consider. I think I am going to try it this year. I see on their site they sell it at Advance Autoparts so I am going to check it out. Here is a link to their site:

If anyone has tried it post up your comments.

Personally, I put in StaBil before i park it.
Friends of mine don't... the add SeaFoam before starting in the spring. works like a charm.
Does also do wonders to clean out the engine/carb/jets!

Seafoam works great as a fuel stabiliser. I use it every fall before i put my bike away as well as my weed wacker and lawn tractor. In the spring when i go to use these things again they all start and run like i ran them yesterday it's good stuff in my opnion. I will say though seafoam is not a mechanic in a can when it comes to crappy running machinery due to dirty carbs and what not. as far as sta-bil goes that stuff sucks i used it twice and had to clean my carbs both years it's not good and i wouldn't recomend it.

That's precisely what I was thinking as I read through this thread. Your best bet is always to make sure to winterize your machine properly. Seafoam is a great way of doing that but once the varnish from evaporating gas reaches a certain threshold then the carbs or injectors will need to be removed from the bike to be cleaned properly.
By all means give it a shot though make sure you mix it correctly. Too much will make the bike run poorly as seafoam has a lower chemical potential energy compared gasoline.
Next time you're going to crank it for awhile put some fuel stabilizer in it and run it for a few minutes to make sure it gets to where it needs to be.

I've used StaBil in the fall... it's what i do
I use Seafoam in the spring when i forget to use stabil.

Sta-bil can kiss my ass. it sucks! just use seafoam when you put it away and it will run like you parked it yesterday.

interesting.. i always use stabil in the fall before i park the bike.. i also learned to take the battery out and keep it inside because cold weather and non-use kill it.. might have to try the seafoam next fall.. might try a little this spring to see if it helps clean it up a bit..

I havent used Stabil in a couple years. I start my bike up once a month and starts everytime like I just parked her yesterday. I have her stored at work this year though in the nice warm shop so didn't do anything with my battery either.

that would be the optimum condition but i am just a poor whiteboy supporting 10 mother****ers including a blood sucking ex so that's not an option for me.. lol.. a $2.99 bottle of stabil is a poor boy's version of a nice heated storage space..

well i always joke that i support my clan of 4 plus my ex-wife, her husband, her stepson, etc.
it all dates back to when i was married to my ex and her mom moved up from florida.. her and her boyfriend that she left her husband for needed a place to live for 2 months to "get on their feet".. 18 months later i kicked them out.. they were there so long that they actually had a baby born.. also her 18 year old brother who was a pos lived with us for about 2 months before i kicked his ass and sent him packing.. its a lot longer story but that is the gist of it..
so i say that i support 10 mfrs.. lol

Anyone know of a local Denver resource for this?
Sounds like something I might want to run in the bike I just acquired to make sure she's all nice and cleaned out after I drain the fuel tank and put in a new load of gas.

My BF uses seafoam when he has carb issues or is cleaning out carbs. I know he used it on the V-star that they dropped a new engine in when it was only hitting on one cylindar - he took apart the carbs and used that to clean out all the gunk (I forget all the fancy terminology for what he was doing even though I was sititng right there). Bike runs right again!

If you're putting it in before a track day make sure you use all that gas before you go. Seafoam doesn't combust as well as gas. You'll be giving yourself a disadvantage otherwise.

i'll take my chances.. i want to use the opportunity to throughly clean it out.. i will run through 2 or 3 tanks anyways.. so first tank if its a little slower that is ok because i will be knocking the rust off anyways..

well i used the seafoam through a tank of gas and the bike definitely is running better.. zero hesitation or stutter.. they also recommend dumping it into the carbs with the engine running.. might try that before i put her to rest for the winter..
