Anyone ride a Concourse? It's not an R1 but I know if it will do it I'm gonna try it mentality I have. I'm a sucker for a shaft also. Hey, that didn't sound right. I've had trouble with chains in the past sounds better.

I'm afraid if I do to much checking I'll be buying. It didn't look like it was that big?:fool: Let me pull up some specs and I'll probably be the owner by this time next week...

I was looking for somebody to tell me they look gay so I would just drop it. More later.

it looks gay...

There ya go

Don't worry about the looks, not everyone is gonna like every bike... as long as YOU like it, cause you are the one thats gotta ride it.

don't drop it tho, i'm sure its kinda heavy, and hard to pick up... and when you drop a bike, it generally does damage.

this may be a moot post if the situation is already done.......

FWIW......I see EVERYTHING in my line of work and I know that if you want to drag a knee on a ST1100, FJR1300, or Concourse of any generation, you can do it. Yes, the bike is heavy, but a competent rider can make that bike do things that an incompetent one can't do on the sportiest bike available. Before starting the photog biz, I worked at our local Yam/Kaw/Bomb dealer and many of my customers who were Connie owners loved them very much. One of my best customers switched up to the Connie to placate his wife after wrecking his FZ1 and he regularly does 200+ mile days, is comfortable, and gets over 50MPG. I'm sure there's a Concourse Owners Group forum out there (COG) so do some research before you buy......as they do model it off the ZX14 currently, but there are a couple of older models. True to Kawi form, they left it unchanged for a LONG time so even 04-05 models can look dated like the EX250 and 500 did.

sorry for the rambling, just my .o2

I'm telling my wife I'll settle for the 1100 but the 1.4k looks good. I love this PLACE!

William you mentioned this bike over a month ago. That means you have been pondering it, hence you really want it. Life is too short. Go for it if it will make you and your wife happy. I took a double take at them in one of my model books at home in the last week. They are

Do what makes YOU happy!

shoot, if i'da known that, I most certainly would have professed my personal preference to the ST1300.......while I have not ridden either of the bikes in question, I regularly see a higher percentage of ST1300 riders who take advantage of their bike's potential. That being said, I'll also stand by my original statement that it is the rider, not the bike, that determines the "sport" level. Heck, I've even seen more than my fair share of full-tour-bike-but-sport-riding along with quite a few cruiser riding sport riders.

It is what it is, but it is also what you make of it :good:
