Those are stunning pics Ebbs. I've been to alaska once, about 10 years ago. I went in the summer though. It's absolutely beautiful up there, it never got above about 70 degrees in the summer (middle of july), and it didn't get dark either. It's an odd feeling to sit around a camp fire at 11pm and have the sun still be up.

I love the pics been there once it was ok I guess I really cant remember much just cold. My aunt lives in anchorage.

awesome pics.. i was there in july of 2006.. it was great.. went to denali state park, mantanuski glacier, etc. will post some pics later actually trying to work right now and taking a short break..

Depends on where you are and what time of year... Like R1gurl said... it's mid 70's in the heat of summer (hit 90 once :laugh:) but in Jan and Feb it'll hit -15 easy....

if you go north to Fairbanks it's much more drastic... they see 80-90 a few times in the summer... and -50 or so with A LOT more snow

that last pic of me on the ice... it was -15 or so with a 10mph wind... FLUCK'N COLD!

well as of right now that's all I have... well I have a lot more but none worth posting... just kinda same shots from different angles.

but yeah AK is GORGEOUS... I'll get more in a years time when I drive down from AK to CO

yeah we had MIDNIGHT SUN parties the first summer I was there (the last two I spent in the desert) crazy shit... lots of fun though!

Yeah I've wheeled my truck in Denali and actually had my truck ON the Kinick Glacier... never did make it to the mantanuska glacier though...

Man I miss Alaska. Was stationed in Fairbanks for 4 years then moved up to Barrow for a year after I got out. Spent some time in Anchorage then back to HOT ASS TEXAS...

well the riding season up there is mighty short and no tracks that i know of but it is a mfr'ing outdoor paradise. so no i didn't want to come back. yes those were carribou antlers they had at a stopover point during the denali tour just for that reason - to take pictures. my best friend lives in anchorage and my aunt lives in wasilla. i will be back up there probably next year. i wish i could go every year but i have things to see and people to do elsewhere.
