View Full Version : What do you think about this
Ok we are thinking about starting a "sister site" It would be the guys side.
the idea is two separate forums with a shared user base and shared common area. You would be registered on both sites and could post on either or in the common area.
Now for the guys. Is the sportbikegurls name an issue for you? Would you feel better posting on a forum of a different name?

What would be the difference? It's already a pretty mixed population.

I have no issue posting on this site... name don't bug me.
how confusing would that be tho... 2 sites that are combined?????
Well the way we would do it wouldn't be confusing. I personally think the name doesn't matter but some ppl are hung up on the word gurls!
I would hope it wouldnt be confusing!!! Thats the last thing I would want to do!
Well if you insist on booting us out... I guess soooo:****:
Noones booting anyone out. Thats not what I am saying at all. I don't know how to explain this better.

LOVE. I, peronally, like it how it is. The population is mostly women and most respect that. Cutting it in two would be awseome, eventually. I don't know about JUST having the one OT forum be shared though... cause every forum applies to both sexes except the obviously separated ones.
I like the name as it is and don't mind posting on here at all. I linked about 90 people to it on another forum via PM and will add this site to my myspace at some point soon .... I just hadn't really edited it since 2005, haha.

its just an idea atm, if everyone is happy as is we will leave it as is.
This is where your feedback and input is needed n wanted. Unlike other places we dont want to make unwanted changes that will run users off.

Name doesn't bother me, I like it here.

I like it the way it is... But then this is the only board I'm on, and I don't like the idea of any more effort to keep up with y'all... I avoid too much work as it is! :)

I'm really new so don't know much about the site. I came from a predominantly male forum, and this is nice. At least keep the leghumpers and chauvanists out...the guys that are on here now seem to be respectful and secure and that's refreshing. My bf asked me if he could join (although I don't know if it was a leghumper joke...) but he is very secure in his manhood and respectful of women, too. I say don't change, but I reiterate that I am very new here.

Hes welcome to join. The reason we were asking is because some ppl may not join a "gurls" site and that includes women. Some girls need to be surrounded by men LOL!

Oh, I love guys, have been in car clubs and always had more guy friends than girls. Lately on the other bike forum I've been ripped on for "being an emotional female" when it wasn't a gender thing so it's nice to come over here and be able to discuss feelings and age and stuff and not have some jerk chauvanist say it's pms or whatever. I'm pretty in touch with my masculine side, so I can hang out usually fine in both gender groups. But that's just me!

There's already enough undercurrent of "man hating" within this site as it is. If you seperated it out further I think you'd lose a very large portion of your member base. Basically you'd be advocating and actively promoting the idea of men not being welcome on this site. Or more specifically, "You're welcome to come into the gurl's section but you're clearly suppossed to be over in the guy's section..."
I already have an abundance of excellent motorcyling forums I'm on. What this site offers is a unique segment of riders as the base -- 'gurls'. And the fact I'm welcomed here makes it so I want to come back. If you're looking for ways to enhance the user experience I can recommend many, but spliting an already small forum further is not a good idea in my book. Actually, you could start by removing most sub-forums and only implementing them when it's clearly obvious they're needed. That would condense your user base and instantly increase interaction. Afterall, a forum is an online community...
YMMV

That's why I almost didn't join the forum...simply because I thought it was a "girls only" place and I didn't want to step on any toes. But after I did some reasearch and found several guys on here I signed up, and I've been more than accepted by many users! I personally think that it's awesome that you all started a site that the main focus is on the ladies, and the guys are welcome too. As someone stated above, it seems that most of the guys on here are respectful, and that helps out a lot I'm sure. A couple other forums that I'm a member of are full of "leg humpers" and they tend to get quite annoying, if ya know what I mean.
So to conclude my meaningless chatter, :D I have no problem posting on this site, and/or telling people about it. I think what you all have here is great, and I'm glad to be a part of it even though I'm a newbie here! :drinks:

I like it how it is. Maybe you could try a female general biker forum instead of just aimed at the sportbike genre. Just an idea. I've been spending a lot of time over at the www.liveleak.com arguing about politics. Its a pretty interesting community being that it atracts people from around the world and their perspectives. A lot of people have some stange ideas about america.

+1 on this for me. I'm new, but already, I find myself posting more here than on the other forum I belong to. I never get any responses from anyone on the other one...it's so nice to actually get responses from someone. I feel like my opinions and comments matter more here. That's not to say I'll give up on the other site, but by far, this site is much more female-friendly...even the guys here are hot and sexy and very respectful! Thanks all for a great experience ... I'll be here for a long time I'm sure!

I have been here for awhile I am not as active as I could be but I have to say that the site does not need to be changed.
If you feel that it should be changed to draw other people who may not like a word or how it is set up are they really people that you want to invite. I think that if someone doesn't like how the forum is they don't need to be here and no need to change because of a few when a majority are quite happy and many are still joining just how it is.
You have created something different and in my opinion it is a good place to be.

I've been poking around here for a couple of months and always wondered if more guys were becoming a diversion from the intentended direction of the site (even though everbody has welcomed me with open arms). I enjoy this site a lot more than the other forums that I visit, though, because of the variety of topics and the quality of the members. I also couldn't agree with deputy11 more, women on bikes are incredibly HOT! I think that I've found a new fetish.
