BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Tom Cruise is the first on the list to get Ducati's newest motorcycle — a $72,500 superbike bristling with titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber technology that can scoot up to 200 mph.

Cruise is scheduled to take delivery of the Desmosedici RR at Beverly Hills Ducati this week. Only 1,500 of the red-and-white Moto GP racing replica motorcycles will be made and Cruise gets the first.

Michael Lock, chief of Cupertino-based Ducati North America, said the Desmosedici RR "is the impossible dream — made possible."

"We are delighted to be able to deliver the world's first production unit here in the USA to Tom Cruise, who is a well-known Ducati enthusiast," Lock said in a statement.

ya... i figure a morgatge isn't really bad debt to be in, as long as you can make the payments, and get a decent piece of property.

+1 Cutty, would be a good start but not really cover the debt of the house and new garage mortgage.

my place was 127... about average around here. I know it's a LOT more in some other places... but then again, wages generally reflect that too.

Ya, the property had a two car garage on it when we bought. We built the house, then 4 yrs later built the garage it's a 40ft by 70ft garage  we have lotsa toys to store  We have no garage actually attached to the house though.

You got that right, not so much anymore 100k is not gonna get much any place you would want to live anyways. We live in the country cause we would get kicked outta a subdivision, neighbors don't deal well with revving motors, quads etc. running all hours of the night. We tend to have many bon fire parties in the back 40 we call it, it's a mud hole we made with the back hoe and bobcat for 4x4's. :haha:

I did... and i'm sure you realize that there are 0's after that.

but, you have to remember, the cost of living is generally cheaper here... but the average income is down as well.

How many people out there are making 45-50K / year?

If I wanted to commute to Indy I could up that $15k or so. I prefer the 7 mile thru the country drive to the rat race that would eat up 2 hours of my day in a car.

I wonder if Tom can even touch the ground on it........he's not really vertically blessed. We saw this bike at the Red Bull compound at Laguna a couple of years ago and its truly amazing.

threadjack/ a friend of mine showed up at the Gap a few days ago on a beeeeeautiful pearl white 848......and his buddy went by shortly thereafter on a red one......very sexy! (like Duc does anything else).

to continue the thread jack/ we bought a 1700sq/ft house on 3 acres with a pond for 130k............did I mention we're less than 15 mi from Tabcat Bridge aka the beginning of the Dragon. There's something to be said for being in the country where you can have target practice with an AR-15 on the front porch (nekkid if'n ya want). Both fortunately and unfortunately prices are getting ready to jump up in our area due to some new developments/projects........great for our house value, but bad in that we want some of the land behind us (neighbor owns ~120 in our area) but he now wants 10k/acre.

btw, there would be pics of most of this stuff......but not enough posts yet. :(

I heard that Tom didnt even really want one...

But that when he was talking to the animals, they told him to get one so he did.
