Never ever leave your keys in your bike!
Never let anyone ride your pride and joy! They could care less about your ride.
Go up to people, and chat.
Don't try to be a show stoppa, and kill yourself doing something stupid.
Don't rev up your bike. We all have one here stupid!
Doing burnouts in front of some one pisses them off!
Don't tell someone how good you are, there is always some one better.
If you are new, and riding in a group let people know!
Don't go in the same line as the person in front of you.
If someone is doing a wheelie stay in your lane!
Add some peeps!

Yeah the guy, or girl with a primer panels, different color wheel, wires showing through tires, broken levers, oil leaks, and smoke pooring out might not be a good person to learn from. Oh and remember chics notice a nice bike.

Watch your keys at stoplights some guys think it's funny to reach over grab your key out and toss it.

Last F'er who did a burnout in front of me watched the drags shirtless, cause I made him use his shirt to clean the asphalt chunks off my bike:not_i:

Loud pipes catch attention of cops too!
Also they tend to piss off some people.

Not if it's on your head!

When you parked! Like put it over your mirror, and opening the visor allowing the mirror to go through.

I hang mine on the rear pegs. Don't wanna scratch my bike. And that's the only useful purpose of rear pegs on my bike anyway:grin:

Don't assume your bike is going to stay in pristine condition. You WILL drop it. it's not a question of "if" it's a matter of "when"

Don't assume it is ok just to start riding next to some one. Trust is a big thing.

What I DO know:

LOOK where you want to go..NOT JUST WHEN TURNING OR LEANING!!!

TRUST that by executing the technique correctly that the bike will handle correctly! (learned that quick in the class when it came to the quickstop & figure 8, I did what I was sposed to and the bike did what IT was sposed to)

NEVER assume that all bikes ride the same! OR that you can ride it like you use to an older bike!

LOOK EVERYWHERE!!!

TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Accidents happen when you hurry yourself or think "I gotta go NOW!"

Relax and enjoy it, it comes easier to you when you DO it w/o thinking so hard about it!

DONT THINK JUST DO!
(This goes for just about everything I was learning, when I didnt think about it and I just DID IT, I did it RIGHT, when I THOUGHT about it, thats when I would stall out or not do it as well)

DO NOT ride with someone who:
Has little to no EXP riding
Has little to no exp riding passengers
Doesnt wear their gear
Has a crapped out bike (wires, parts & other things hanging off or mulitple scrapes)
Has an attitude in general (this can come out while riding and thats no good for you)
Doesnt encourage YOU to wear gear.
Doesnt instruct you on how to ride as THEIR passenger! (Some want you to hold on to them or put hands on the tank & so on)
Has only been riding their current bike for less than approx 600mi (they are still learning how THAT particular bike handles!!!)
Is a bad driver (again this can transfer into riding!)
Admits to multiple accidents in their riding time. Many of which they should have learned from the first time.

All of this info may be a bit overwhelming to the newbs.

Start slow, take your time..don't let anyone pressure you. When you push past your own personal limits is when you have issues. Don't lose respect for your machine, and know it's limits as well.
