Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Chris. I'm Nee's better half :slow_en: I currently ride a CBR900RR and when Nee lets me, her ZX-6R.

I work in the financial industry by day and by night/weekend I moonlight as a MSF Rider Coach.

As most people know Nee and I are engaged. We're planning on getting married in sept of 08.

Thats about it for now. I hope to get to know some of you on here. I know it's mainly a women riders board, but i'll be more then happy to offer help and advice when I can. Thanks,
Chris

The two most important thing when taking the BRC is to stay awake and concentrate... 99% of the coaches are patient enough to guide you all the way through the course... with flying colors

And we hear nothing but wonderful things about you :)
Congrats on your engagement!
Guess.. I've lived up to my name again.. I ain't heard nothing? :sclerosis:But then again I'm NoBody Special...:umnik:

Thanks again for the welcome. I'll definatly put up some pointers on here when I have alittle more time. I'm just at lunch right now.

The best few suggestions I can give to any new rider going to the MSF for the first time.

1) Get plenty of sleep the night before the class and the night of the class.

2) Start drinking plenty of water a day or two before the class to get yourself hydrated.

3) Bring water, gatorade, and snacks with you to keep yourself energized throught the weekend.

4) Go into the class with an open mind. Pay attention to the demo's that are provided and don't be afraid to ask questions of the rider coaches.

5) We prefer students with no prior riding experience. It's easier to teach good habits then to break bad habits. The BRC class is designed for riders who have never ridden a motorcycle and have never even driven a manual transmission car.

6) If you've never rode a motorcycle before, don't try and start before the class. If you want to practice on anything, ride a bicycle and work on your balance and cordination.

While I (obviously) agree with all that he posted, I can't emphasize the importance of these three enough!! Not sure how hot it is up your way, but where I took it (where he teaches, though before he was a coach there ) was out on an airstrip, and it was HOTASBALLZ. If not for my lil cooler of gatorade and water (and the coach hand-feeding me sliced apples and stuff), I'd have been miserable.

And dress comfy... If you plan to wear your riding jacket during the exercises, then wear something cool/comfy under it (and just take the jacket off between exercises). The tanktops with built in sportsbras (like Nike, Under Armour, etc...) are very comfy and will keep you cooler/drier. Also look for coolmax socks (2 days x 8-12 hours a day = stinky, sweaty feet).
