kk so we had our bikenight this saturday and it BOMBED.

SUCKED AZZZZ

it was a late night sickgirlz & sickboys meeting!!!!!

NO ONE showed.

What do I blame?
The date: It was the night of the Bronco's 1st home game of the season (ok pre-season), UFC fight, some Adult filmstar ball downtown, Sugar house grand opening. Yeah. I shoulda went to Sugar house myself bc I was bored @ the club.
But the BIGGEST thing I blame??

THIS TOTALLY FUBAR PIPE LAW IN DENVER!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY the motorcycling community was misinformed on this law, has no clue about it at all, or just ASSUMES that they will get a ticket for it.

First off the decible meters cost $1000 each, Denver doesnt have them...yet...
Second off, the first (and ONLY) ticket given out was dismissed.
Third, its already been established that as long as you take it easy in town and dont redline or rev just to impress, you will be fine.
Cops are looking for EXCESSIVE noise, not just anyone on a bike.

Also the officer HAS to physically CHECK for the stamp or sticker on the pipe for it to hold up in court.

Dont worry, this is being fought to the HILT by AMA and many other motorcycling associations. Several HOG lawyers are willing to fight these tickets FREE OF CHARGE as well.

It really sucked going down to the Shell Thursday, Friday and Saturday night to pass out flyers to pump this and not seeing one bike.

Oh wow...... Holy sh!t that blows.... Are there any local forums or anything through which you can broadcast the correct info about the pipe law, etc...?

I'm so sorry... I know how much that must suck to put your heart and energy into it and then have it bomb like that.... :(

Yeah our last one was like DAYS before the pipe law went into effect and we had several riders. We were hoping for more than our first one.

Nope, they are all private club only forums...IE: Mile High Madness, CSC, WOW, RMWMC, DDOB, and those are the only ones I know with forums
We sold a COUPLE of shirts & stickers and had a beer chug but that was about it.

I was trying to get drunk, didnt work, I think the bartender knew it and didnt make my drinks that strong. I had a buzz when I left but not drunk which made it worse. Well that and it felt like we cliqued off. Some girls were having bad nights cause of their men, others of us were tired bc of the game we had to work, others were in their own worlds.

My B day is tomorrow so I was celebrating this weekend and this coming weekend...looks like the fun will actually be this next weekend.

Oh yeah and I tried to help organize a morning canyon ride...everyone pussed out bc "Oh its so late" kiss my butt I didnt get but maybe 3 hrs sleep and I woke up...
You can sleep when you're dead.

Maybe you could make up flyers? And hand them out on the pipe law? I am sorry it was a bust! Better luck next time?:)

Yeah problem is, all the bike gathering places have dispersed! (sp??)
We went to several hot spots, no bikes.

I told our prez I am going to plaster flyers all over denver and around town. this is total BS man.

I'm breathing :) well now LOL.
I think I was more depressed about not being able to ride. Seeing everyone riding :( and then everyone pussing out on a ride on sunday :(
My friend who lets me ride her bike occassionally was having issues with her man so I wasnt going to be like
"Hey I know u are all depressed and stuff but can I gank your bike to releve a little stress and brush up on my skills while you sit here bawling your eyes out and passing out to sleep the pain away?"

I honestly don't know a law like that can hold up at all. It is flat out discrimination! Ther are many other vehicles out there that normaly put out more decibles that any motorcyle that I have heard and until they reuire it from all vehicles than IMO it is nothing but decriminateing against motorcycles in general.

yep it IS discrimination against bikes.
I go downtown and hear louder CARS than I do bikes.

Granted no one should be reving their **** in such a highly populated area especially in the late hours. Bike or not.
Revving your car/bike dooesn't make you cool it makes you a damned fool.

I dont want to HEAR your car/bike I want to SEE what it can actually DO.

With that said.
Either make it against the law for ALL loud modes of transportation to be ticketed downtown, or make it to where you cannot be loud at certain hours.

what a waste of cops time...and thats why a lot of cops are saying they wont ticket anyone unless they are being excessively loud.

It's all about increasing revenue and bikes became the new scape goat!

Speaking of loud pipes...

ONE of the guys that DID show up (a friend of one of the sickboys)
had one of THE LOUDEST BIKES I have EVER heard!!! and HE showed up.
It was a yamaha victory I think but he had it FULLLY customized.

I asked him how he got here & he said he cruised thru Denver the entire time. Even starting that shyt up vibrated the patio at the club!!!!

Pussiessssssssssssssss

My Mean Streak will about pop your ears if you rev it up. But I am very considerate in residential areas and only let it all out at what a consider to be appropriate times. Although some may disagree.
