I just bought a 1980 Honda CX500 (not a sports bike but all I could afford right now), and I want to replace the headlight fairing that is on it now. How do I know what will work for my bike? Or is there a better brand than another?:yahoo:

I would say stick with the parts / pieces that were made for the bike. Did a search on ebay and they have the parts for it. I'm sure someone on craigs list has some too.

I don't know much about the older bikes, and have never heard of a headlight fairing.

If you're referring to how the headlight attaches to the fairing. The Suzuki GSXR's have history with this too.

Dunno the steps to change the headlight into a fork mounted, but you may want to keep what you've got until the whole bike can be upgraded.
