I really wanted to make this ride. Lil Girley has a flapjack festival and then I have a housewarming party at noon. Later that night a fun lil pleasure party hehehe

I think flapjacks are pancakes. So we will be at the Land O Lakes pancake festival LOL

Yeah, I know a flapjack is a pancake.. but never heard of a festival for them. It is to show all the different ways to make and serve them? I see that being a very fattening (but delicious) day out!

Sweet pics!!! I wish I was there!

Woke up to a lovely 33 here today but did get up to 58 eventually. Of course I had to work on one of the last decent days of the season - saw a lot of bikes out on my way home :(

So, where did you ride to, what did you do, etc? Very, very cool!!!

The day started for me at 6:45am. I met some of the girls in Orlando at 7:15, some of whom were up even earlier b/c they rode over from Daytona. We hung out and talked longer than we should have, then we rode to Lakeland to meet up with CBRJenn, ZX9er and some other girls at about 8:30.

It was at that point we realized we had a technical issue... one of the OCR girls (whose name I can't recall now, sorry!!!) had her oil changed the day before and they didn't screw the fill cap/dip stick back in, and it was spurting oil out on the way from Orlando. So we had to first figure out that this is what really was causing the problem (it was pretty obvious though) and make sure she didn't lose too much oil, then we had to get the oil off her rear tire before we went any further.

Then we rode on to the real meeting spot in Tampa. The KSU time was supposed to be around 9:30, but we were running late.

Then Lisa (on the black R1) led us on her "North Run" (roads north of Tampa), which was a blast. I took over leading on the last part near Crystal River, and we got to Pecks (the restaurant at the end of Ozello Trail) around 1:30 or 2pm. We had lunch, and Katie (GirlRider's organizer) had gifts for us all, which was very sweet of her to do. I didn't get home until after 5, so it was a great day.

The high yesterday was only about 77, I believe. The weather normally stays around 70 - 80 most of the winter, but it can get hotter and colder. November is the best time of year in Florida though. Dry and cooler, lots of sunshine and less humidity.

Katie organized this group. I have no idea how she did it, but she did a great job. She even put up our own private forum so we could communicate easier. She's awesome.

That was a most awesome ride....I dont think I have ridden that far since I started riding and my arse hurt when I finally made it home...But I would def do it all over again...:victory:

I was pretty sore too, Faye. Mostly because I haven't been riding as much as usual. Gotta do something about that. It was a really great ride, though. Probably the best one since UpAllNite led last January, I think it was.

R1Gurl, if we could organize something for SBG, that would be wonderful! I wonder how feasible it would be for everyone to come down to Daytona for bike week? Or maybe do something more centrally located, like Deals Gap?
