View Full Version : Anyone planning modifications during off season?

OK, so for those of us that have to put the bikes away for the winter. What is your to do, or wish list for this year?

Just bought the ZX6R in July, so simple things for me this year K&M air filter, aftermarket wind shield and contemplating turning those black wheels Kawi Green.

I've already done my biggest one the tail swap, theres a thread on it http://www.sportbikegurls.com/forums//showthread.php?t=1155

Plan on gettin the tail painted, and at least the right lower fixed or replaced, maybe a whole makeover but I doubt the funds will be avail fer that lol. Replace exhaust with a new Bootleg LE CF Shorty http://www.viceindustriessportbike.com/images/limited/limited_cf_shorty2.jpg

And a few other cheap mods I will post as I do them. 8)

Nice Job, I have to live vicariously thru all of you when it comes to major change like that. It totally freaks me out to see my bike apart like that. Almost didn't make it thru switching to after market pipe on mine with the untail exhaust. I was traumatized to see my girl in pieces. lol

Only mod I was thinking about (if i can afford it) is getting my rear sets etc powder coated black.

I would love to do the exhaust but don't have a grand to replace the cans.

lol it isnt bad unless you start b4 the parts are all in :lol:

I bought an Akrapovic exhaust on Oct 4th but its on backorder until mid Nov. That is the last of mods until next year (have to buy xmas presents for the bratty kid LOL). I want a new windshield and fender elim. kit but that will have to wait

turning the 6 into a sleeper. swaping the motor for a 750 and then adding nitrous. i want to put a 1000 motor on it but i dont want to redo the wiring. also thinking about a full yosh system on it. ive already got the power commander, tre, bmc race filter, and +1 -2 set up. not really sure what else im going to do. a couple cosmetic features will be added. but not sure what.

ill post pics later and see what you guys think

Well, I think I'm gonna throw on a GPR stabilizer and some Pazzo's, and that should cover my winter mods. It's gonna be a mild winter(for mods that is)hehe. Otherwise, my baby is pretty much where I want her.

I am going bling bling , I buy more chrome every two weeks and I already sent off for my chrome rims. I am going to put it all on at the same time and of course post some pics

i plan on getting the integrated turn signal i bought installed in the off season. that's about the only mod i have lined up right now.

for my stunt rig, MSR easy pull clutch lever, Tygershark cage, 05 06 636 front end, R1 master for the front brake (which i'm doing tomorrow) damper.

for the track bike, full akro exhaust, power commander, and racetech suspension probably

paint the tail, new exhaust (a CF Shorty) A few LED tricks, new tires by next spring.

Building the new racebike so ya lots of stuff.

Already done: Attack bodywork, Woodcraft case Covers, Woodcraft sliders and spools, Leo Vince SBK exhaust.

Next week: Moto-R rearsets and clip ons, Galfer SS brake lines, more safety wiring.

After that: Bazazz FI - Quick Shift - Traction Control unit, Gearing and 520, front fairing stay, Penske Triple Clicker and send my forks off to GP to get 25 mil. carts installed.

After that...go flog that bitch around the track and hope I dont completely destroy it!
