DK, I swear I'm not trying to be a copycat. ;)

Mod #1: Fill in the ****ing holes that the retarded first owner left behind the turn signals.

So here's what it looked like BEFORE:

Here's what it looks like NOW... after fiberglassing, filling, sanding, and repainting the front cowl:

(Also, note I've removed the stickers from the side fairing, ground out the scratches, and have sanded it down to 800 grit. I still need to wet sand down to 1,000 before I primer it.)

(Ignore the crap quality. My cell phone sucks.)

So now the question: what color(s) do I paint the thing?

Paint it the color of my R1...Make it sexy...Its a Honduh, you can only do so much to it..LOL

J/K...Dude you really cant go wrong with all black. You cant tell that i binned the R6 cuz i rattle canned it and it looks fine now. Since you track day it..The odds of that happening are greater..Just my opinion.

White or black! Simple, yet elegant....

Dude don't listen to any of that! Paint that thing to be a MotoGP replica (Repsol, Rothman's, West) or another Honda tribute. Decal kits are available on E-bay, just lay down the base paint.

That "simple and clean" look was so last weekend! :)

If you need a painter I got a hook up for you!

If I was going to get a bike painted, I wouldn't want to do a stock color.

I generally would agree with ya on that. But bikes dont seem to sell as well with custom paint jobs like cars do. I happen to like the way bike is painted and is cheaper for me to get it redone like it is (under 1k) over how I'd want a custom job (2k plus easy lol).

Guess I don't really think of reselling something I have once I have it. Just like I'm not afraid to buy a brand new car like some people. They are worried about resale, but I don't think of it. If I'm going to buy a car or a bike, I think long term. :D

I typically make my bike how *I* like it... I don't change things on it for it's potential resale value... I don't see the point of not doing things to your bike, even though it's want you want, just because it might not be popular for when you try to sell it sometime down the road.. :focus:

Shorcake got her 636 all custom painted for less than $750. This was done by a guy that paints 30K+ paintjobs on hotrods. You can get a custom paint job done just as cheap as a "stock" paintjob, just don't pick out difficult colors or flakes and there you go. :)

I actually wouldn't mind doing a Repsol replica - but I'd have to powdercoat the wheels orange. >_<

I really love the Stormtrooper look, and have been playing around with it a TON in Photoshop on my bike to try and figure out how that would look. So far, I haven't found a good way to do it because the tail section on the F4i is so ****ing goofy.

DK, if you wouldn't mind giving me the hookup on your painter, please do. I've got a guy locally at the Purifoy Chevrolet body shop who does great work for my brother - but he's outlandishly expensive. The quote for my bike if I did all the prep work was around $1,000. At that price I'd rather just rattlecan it all one color and slap stickers on it.
